Well, first lesson of storytelling class was fun. At first I thought it was going to be boring as the title of the module was kind of misleading and I thought we were suppose to know about storytelling techniques as in how to tell a good and proper story.
At least things were different when I had my first lesson. This module is basically a stepping stone for me when I reach year 2 which has a module called scriptwriting. So it is important to get an idea what is this actually about. Anyway, we got to play an introduction game which was fun and hilarious as we have of sorts of funny actions and descriptive words for our name.
After all the fun and laughter, it is back to serious business. Mr. Ryan or rather Mr. Rapping Ryan explained to us what actually this module is about and basically, it is related to scriptwriting. We have to use our creativity to create stories using the 3 important factors which is present tense, 3rd person writing and motion verbs.
Stunned and shocked, I was thinking that is was going to be tough as I got to think from the audiences to myself and also using my imaginative to create a good script that would create a good movie, which is to attract the audiences giving them a movie that is well worth for their money and also a movie that has to be watched and worth a life time. So the fact that creating a good script is not easy at all because it requires a lot of work and you must portray how is the whole thing going to be like, in order to have a start.
Although it may look simple but writing the script with the 3 given factors is not easy at all. I am starting to have mixed feelings about this, whether it is good or bad, it is the experience and process which are important. I believe when I slowly get the hang of it, I will be able to produce a good script. After all, lessons are just going to get more and more interesting and fun and by the end of this module, I will definitely gain valuable experiences which will be useful. This is definitely one interesting and good module.
